Dragon Quest VII goes mobile, launches September 17 in Japan

If there are two things Japan loves more than anything else in the video game world, it's gaming on the go and Dragon Quest. Combine the two and you get Dragon Quest on iOS and Android devices in addition to the 3DS. Square Enix is no stranger to releasing Dragon Quest games on mobile platforms, as several have already found their way to phones and tablets. The latest game to make the leap this Thursday in Japan is Dragon Quest VII

Relive the mysteries of the islands surrounding Estard as the Hero and his friends travel through time to confront monsters and other evil beings. The massive RPG includes a class system so players can customize each character to their specific liking. Square Enix isn't responsible for phone batteries draining, as Dragon Quest VII can easily eat up  over a hundred hours before you realize it.

Dragon Quest VII's mobile release is currently only for Japan. There have been reports of the title possibly being localized ater, but nothing has been confirmed by Square Enix yet. A page on Square Enix Japan's site that allegedly claimed this mobile port would be coming to the west has since been taken down, so it's best to treat localization as a rumor for the time being.
