To arms, brothers and sisters of the mighty Horde! Blizzcon is coming and the time to prove our worthiness is nigh! The Road to Blizzcon for World of Warcraft arena players began back in July by qualifying for the North American regional arena tournament. The qualifiers have finished, and the top eight teams have been chosen to go head to head this weekend for a chance at part of the $100,000 prize pool and a ticket to Blizzcon.

The ticket to participate in Blizzard's version of E3 isn't the real draw, though. The three Blizzcon qualifying teams from the North America regionals tournament will join five other teams from elsewhere in the world for a chance to stake their claim on a share of the world championship's $250,000 prize pool. Big names such as Method and Luminosity will be in attendance at this year's regionals tournament along with a few others. The full list of competing teams at this year's Blizzcon qualifying tournament is as follows:

  • Dream Deferred (North America)
  • FolloweSports.com (North America)
  • Hype (Australia and New Zealand)
  • Juveniles (North America)
  • Luminosity (North America)
  • Method (North America)
  • Santos Dexterity (North America)
  • Tempo Storm (North America)

The tournament will be held September 12 and 13, with live stream coverage on Twitch starting at noon Pacific both days. Commentary will be provided by some of the World of Warcraft arena scene's most notable names such as Josh "Lore" Allen and Jackson "Bahjeera" Bliton. Good luck to everyone in the tournament and may you bring your faction  glory and honor!
