Activision and Bungie have revealed that the next Destiny expansion, Expansion II: House of Wolves, will be out May 19. A prologue trailer teases the premise of the upcoming add-on, featuring a very angry Queen of the Reef and her new Fallen enemies.
Given its arrival comes nearly five months after Expansion I: The Dark Below, I'd say players are more than ready for some new content. Early leaks for House of Wolves claimed that the Reef, home to the myserious Awoken Queen and her followers, would become a new hub for Guardians. In addition to the new Awoken-heavy story arc, we can also expect three new Crucible maps, a third Raid, and new Strike -- very likely based around the Fallen. The developers have also stated they'll be fixing many of the issues The Dark Below suffered from.
In addition to House of Wolves, Bungie and Activision are expected to release another major update later this year. What that will be and if they'll stick with this schedule are subject to change, but more game content is never a bad thing. Honestly, unless the new expansion completely blows Dark Below out of the water in terms of longevity, having just one expansion per year would be a bit of a letdown.
As with Dark Below , we have a prologue cinematic leading into the new expansion, with more reveals on the way. Take a look below, and try not to say, "I told her so."
