Trine 3: Artifacts of Power is available now on Steam through the Early Access program. Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight and Zonya the Thief return for the third installment of the side-scrolling puzzle-plaformer.
The Early Access build includes two story levels, with a third following next month. Interestingly, this title is the first in the Trine series to feature 3D gameplay and Frozenbyte is taking the opportunity to gather feedback from users through Early Access before the game is officially released.
Trine 3 is our first move towards 3D-gameplay in the Trine series, so we wanted to get in touch with our player-base in an early enough phase to collect feedback on the new gameplay features, so we can tweak those into the right direction. Early Access can hopefully provide us with lots of players willing to do this
Players can also experiment with a level editor and an "amusement park" area where the game's physics "go wild." Developers are also adding in challenge levels, for players looking to test their skills.
Trine 3: Artifacts of Power is expected to stay in Early Access for "a few months" with a full release targeted for Fall 2015. Customers can enjoy a 10 percent discount off the $19.99 price tag during the first week of Early Access.
