Dancing With the Stars Results: Another Dream Cut Short

Another week, another elimination. Who survived the latest Dancing With the Stars results show on ABC, and who's still in the hunt for the Mirror Ball?

Who shone brightest and who failed to show up on an emotional week dedicated to the most memorable year of each contestant's lives? Let's recap ...

This much is clear on DWTS: Anybody can have a great night, anyone can have an off night and anyone can end up in jeopardy when you allow fan votes.

Case in point: Michael Sam and Riker Lynch were on the verge of going home, despite the fact that both bested Chris Soules and Suzanne Somers.

In the end it was Sam, who poured his heart out about coming out as the first gay NFL draft pick last year, who was shown the door on this episode.

Once again, his time on national stage was short-lived.

Sam has still yet to see a professional football field despite huge expectations placed on his shoulders by himself and others. He's vowed not to give up.

"She was amazing," was all he could muster last night, referring to his professional partner Peta Murgatroyd. How did everyone else fare on the parquet?

The scores from Monday night's performances ...

  1. Willow Shields and Mark Ballas: 39

  2. Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough: 36

  3. Rumer Willis and Val Chermkovskiy: 35

  4. Riker Lynch and Allison Holker: 34

  5. Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson: 34

  6. Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess: 32

  7. Michael Sam and Peta Murgatroyd: 30

  8. Patti LaBelle and Artem Chigvintsev: 30

  9. Suzanne Somers and Tony Dovolani: 28

  10. Chris Soules and Witney Carson: 27

What do you think? Did America get it right? Were you expecting Willow to surge into the lead? And will The Bachelor Chris Soules ever get eliminated?!

Soules dedicating his performance to Whitney Bischoff sure was sweet, but he'll be fighting for his Dancing life, and votes, once again next Monday.
